Thua G. Barlay is the managing partner of BARLAY LAW GROUP LLC, where he is charged with overseeing the operations and affairs of the firm. His areas of practice are Estate Planning and Real Estate (Residential and Commercial). He is responsible for building and maintaining relationships with existing clients in addition to creating new opportunities.

Mr. Barlay is a Certified Estate Planner TM with the National Institute of Certified Estate Planners - NICEP; a member of WealthCounsel, a national organization that provides attorneys with a unique blend of estate planning resources to competently serve the needs of their clients; and a member of the National Academy of Elder Law Attorneys, Inc. (NAELA).

In 2004, Mr. Barlay worked at King & Spalding LLP as a Special Assignment Attorney. He also worked in the legal department of CMG Worldwide, Inc., where he assisted in negotiating license agreements on behalf of CMG's 200 plus entertainment, sports and corporate clients, as well as protecting clients against unauthorized uses of their intellectual property.

In 2002, Mr. Barlay received a Juris Doctorate (JD) from Indiana University School of Law - Indianapolis. He also received a Master's in Business Administration (Finance) from the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University. He was a board member of the Indiana International and Comparative Law Review.

Mr. Barlay earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Technology from Purdue University - Indianapolis. While in school, he served as President of the Student Government (Undergraduate Student Assembly), President of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. - Sigma Phi Chapter, and a four-year letterman with the men's soccer team. In addition to being named an Alpha Lambda Delta Freshman Honorary, he was designated as the recipient of the Charles K. Barker Award for the most outstanding minority Computer Technology major. Mr. Barlay was also elected Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. - District Director for the State of Indiana, the youngest in the state's history.

As a life member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., and a proud member of East Point First Mallalieu United Methodist Church, Mr. Barlay remains an active participant in his community. Mr. Barlay is active within Rockdale County with the Rotary Club of Conyers and the Conyers-Rockdale Chamber of Commerce. He serves the Chamber on the Executive Board as the General Counsel/Secretary. He is a member of Leadership Rockdale (Class of 2009). He devotes his personal time to spending time with family and playing golf.

Mr. Barlay is married to the former Andrea R. Miles and they are blessed with two young sons, Emmanuel and Ethan.
